4 Things you need to know about driving targeted traffic to your MLM site.

The one thing you never get told as a network marketer is that your standard website is basically not able to rank in Google. The company you are promoting gives the exact same page to everyone that promotes. Google will see that as duplicate content and only allow a few of the pages to rank in their search engine.

To outrank your competitors, you have to have the only thing that can separate you from them. You need inbound links! Links pointing to your MLM page will count as votes toward getting you to show up in Google for the main terms you are focused on.

Network marketing is called “network marketing” for a reason. You should be networking with like minded people to get them interested in your opportunity. With social media becoming a major piece of the internet, MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube should be a major piece of your marketing strategy. Sign up for as many social networking sites as you can and build some relationships to find more prospects.

Using video as a network marketer can set you apart from everyone else. It's a great way to connect with people and talk about what you do. By sharing your knowledge and expertise, you can build relationships with people with a lot less effort. Use every tool you can that is provided by the sites (like YouTube's new annotation function).

Web forums have been around for ages, but they are still a very effective way of promoting yourself and your business. Find some forums and help others. Answer their questions and become the obvious expert. Take it slowly and don't slam the forums with posts. Dedicate a few minutes per day to helping people on forums and the traffic will be impossible to stop.

3 Reasons Why Guaranteed Web Traffic Will Never Work.

Have you ever searched for “Guaranteed Web Traffic”? What you'll find is some of the least obvious scams on the internet. It would be great to be able to click a button, pay a few dollars, and get targeted traffic, but the sites that advertise promotions like this provide a service that simply doesn't work. Here are some of the methods they use and why they don't work.

Pop under traffic is a common method to filter traffic into your website. The company owns tons of websites in numerous niches and they have a special code put onto each site that will have one of the sites they have been paid to drive traffic to “pop up” into a browser window while someone views their site. This is grossly ineffective due to the frustration factor. Do you like it when a pop up window flies open in your browser? Your potential customer won't either.

Even better, most browsers give pop up blockers built into the software. It will block most types of pop up windows.

Expired domain traffic can be effective if done right, but most of these companies do it wrong. By finding an expired domain that is very close to your site, it can bring you visitors interested in your products. If the site is not closely related, the traffic isn't targeted and will not be interested in what you have to offer. These companies are not willing to take the time to find a good expired domain to send you traffic from. Their laziness will lead directly to you wasting your money with them.

The last sneaky trick they use is totally and completely theft. Garbage sites will put a single pixel or frame that is 1 square pixel. They put your website in that single pixel and you have now had a visitor as far as your tracking is concerned This is extremely misleading and flat out wrong.

If you want to pay for traffic, pay-per-click through Google will always work if you do it right. Banner advertising also works if you get your ad shown on sites that deal with your potential customers.

Don't waste your money on “Guaranteed Web Traffic”. Take the time to learn how to use Adwords or Banner Advertising that will actually bring visitors that will be interested in you and what you do.
