The one thing you never get told as a network marketer is that your standard website is basically not able to rank in Google. The company you are promoting gives the exact same page to everyone that promotes. Google will see that as duplicate content and only allow a few of the pages to rank in their search engine.
To outrank your competitors, you have to have the only thing that can separate you from them. You need inbound links! Links pointing to your MLM page will count as votes toward getting you to show up in Google for the main terms you are focused on.
Network marketing is called “network marketing” for a reason. You should be networking with like minded people to get them interested in your opportunity. With social media becoming a major piece of the internet, MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube should be a major piece of your marketing strategy. Sign up for as many social networking sites as you can and build some relationships to find more prospects.
Using video as a network marketer can set you apart from everyone else. It's a great way to connect with people and talk about what you do. By sharing your knowledge and expertise, you can build relationships with people with a lot less effort. Use every tool you can that is provided by the sites (like YouTube's new annotation function).
Web forums have been around for ages, but they are still a very effective way of promoting yourself and your business. Find some forums and help others. Answer their questions and become the obvious expert. Take it slowly and don't slam the forums with posts. Dedicate a few minutes per day to helping people on forums and the traffic will be impossible to stop.
